Key takeaway

In Morocco, a showcase website is advertised between 1 900 DH and 30 000 DH depending on the provider (prices checked in October 2026), and an online shop starts between 2 900 and 6 500 DH. The gap comes mostly from what is included: copywriting, languages, hosting, maintenance and VAT. Before comparing, make sure the domain name and the site will be in your name.

When a business in Morocco thinks about a website, its first question is the cost, and that is the hardest one to settle: two quotes for the same amount can hide two very different projects. Below are the prices Moroccan providers advertised in October 2026, what they cover, and the fees that come after launch.

Website cost in Morocco by type of site

A simple showcase site is advertised from 1 900 DH at small providers, and between 12 000 and 30 000 MAD at a Casablanca agency that includes strategy and content. Here are public prices checked in October 2026 on the providers' own websites.

These figures don't tell you who is cheapest. They show that "website" covers very different projects: a template filled in a week, or a site written for your customers, in two languages, with support after launch.

How much does an e-commerce site cost in Morocco?

An online shop costs more than a showcase site: it has to handle a catalogue, orders and often card payment. The table shows shops advertised from 2 900 DH in Tangier. Elsewhere, Digitoyou (Casablanca) advertises a shop from 6 490 DH, and the Boutique Starter package from King4Media (up to 50 products) is listed at 12 000 to 16 000 DH. Diavnet quotes 10 000 to 30 000 DH depending on the catalogue.

What makes the price of a shop go up or down:

  • the number of products and variants (sizes, colours) to enter;
  • online payment: VSF Agency (Rabat) advertises a shop with CMI card payment from 8 000 DH, and Devini charges 600 to 800 DH to add it;
  • delivery: zones, fees, and cash on delivery if you offer it;
  • the platform: WooCommerce, Shopify or custom development; Shopify, for example, is paid by monthly subscription.

What should the price include?

A serious quote lists in writing what you get. Ask at least for:

  • the number of pages and what they contain (home, services, about, contact…);
  • who writes the copy: you, or the provider;
  • the languages: French only, or Arabic and English too;
  • mobile layout and loading speed;
  • basic SEO: titles, descriptions, Google Business Profile listing;
  • the contact form and the personal data notice;
  • training so you can change opening hours, text or photos yourself;
  • the timeline, and when it starts.

On that last point, several agencies say their timeline starts once your text and photos arrive, such as Boughaz Digital, which quotes 2 to 3 weeks. If content takes a month to gather, the site launches a month later.

Which costs come after launch?

The build price is not the total cost. A website needs upkeep, and some fees recur every year or every month:

  • Domain name and hosting: the domain costs 150 to 500 MAD a year and shared hosting 600 to 2 000 MAD a year, according to CreationSiteWebPro; Red City Web charges 2 500 to 3 200 DH excl. VAT a year for a package with domain, hosting and SSL certificate.
  • Maintenance (updates, backups, security, small changes): from 300 DH a month at Boughaz Digital to 500–2 000 MAD a month at Kolonell.
  • Arabic version: Kolonell lists a 15 to 25% surcharge for Arabic (read right to left), and 3 000 to 8 000 MAD for a French/Arabic translation.

Plan Arabic from the start: according to the 2024 HCP census, 99.2% of literate Moroccans read and write Arabic, compared with 57.7% for French (TelQuel). A French-only site leaves part of your customers out.

Excluding or including VAT: how to compare two quotes?

Many prices are shown excluding tax (HT), and some say nothing. The standard VAT rate in Morocco is 20% (ClicPaie): a site at 10 000 DH excl. VAT costs you 12 000 DH incl. VAT. If you reclaim VAT, ask for an invoice showing both your ICE and the provider's; without both, the VAT is not deductible (ClicPaie).

The simple rule

Always compare prices including VAT over two years: build + domain and hosting + maintenance + options. That is where the real gaps between quotes show up.

Who owns the domain and the site?

This question prevents the worst surprises. The domain must be registered in your name (you are the registrant), with the provider only as technical contact. A review posted on Trustpilot in January 2026 describes a domain transfer "blocked for several days without justification": without control of your domain, you can neither change host nor leave.

  • Is the domain in your name, with your own access?
  • Can you take the site files and database with you if you leave?
  • Does the site run on a closed platform you won't be able to leave?

And at BrightIntent, how much is it?

Our indicative prices: an essential showcase site (3 to 4 weeks) from 3 800 DH excl. VAT, a fuller site built to bring in enquiries (5 to 7 weeks) from 6 800 DH excl. VAT, and an online shop (6 to 10 weeks) from 7 900 DH excl. VAT (launch price until January 31, 2027). Each extra language is 1 500 to 3 500 DH excl. VAT, and maintenance 500 to 1 500 DH excl. VAT a month.

In every case the domain, accounts and files stay yours, and the site's objectives are written down before we start. Details are on the website design in Morocco page and our pricing. For a figure that fits your project, build your online quote: the estimate updates with every choice.

Frequently asked questions

Is a 2 000 DH website a scam?

Not necessarily. It is often a template filled with your details, with no copywriting or strategy. That can be enough to exist online. Above all, check that the domain is in your name and what is billed every year.

How long does it take to build a showcase site?

Moroccan providers quote anything from 1–2 weeks to 30 days for a showcase site. Count from the moment your text and photos are ready: that is usually where projects slip.

How much does a website cost per month after it is built?

Budget 150 to 500 MAD a year for the domain and 600 to 2 000 MAD a year for hosting, then, if you take it, maintenance of 300 to 2 000 DH a month depending on the providers we checked.

Do I need a website in Arabic?

Yes, if your customers are in Morocco: 99.2% of literate Moroccans read Arabic, compared with 57.7% for French (HCP, 2024 census). Put it in the quote from the start, not afterwards.

How much does website hosting cost in Morocco?

Budget 150 to 500 MAD a year for the domain name and 600 to 2 000 MAD for shared hosting on a showcase site, according to CreationSiteWebPro. Some agencies charge 2 500 to 3 200 DH excl. VAT a year for a package that also includes the SSL certificate. Either way, ask who holds the hosting account.

Can you build a website for free?

Yes, with a tool like Wix, but the site keeps the platform's address (something like name.wixsite.com/site), and you need a paid plan to use your own domain name (Wix). That is enough to test an idea. For a business that wants to be found and trusted, a domain in its own name is the better choice.

Website, web site or internet site: is there a difference?

None in practice: all three mean a set of pages you can reach at one address on the internet.
